Overview
Dr. Edward Scheid is a board-certified neurosurgeon and the founder of Neurospine Plus. Dr. Scheid specializes in the treatment of spine injuries and has years of experience helping patients recover from accidents.
If you have been in a car accident, tractor-trailer accident, or pedestrian accident, you may be wondering if you need to see a spine surgeon. In many cases, the answer is yes. A spine surgeon can help you treat your injuries and improve your quality of life.
Here are some common injuries that a neurosurgeon treats:
Whiplash:
Whiplash is a neck injury that occurs when your head is suddenly jerked forward or backward. This can damage the bones, discs, and muscles in your neck. Symptoms of whiplash include neck pain, stiffness, headaches, and dizziness.
Herniated disc:
A herniated disc occurs when the gel-like center of a disc rupture and puts pressure on the spinal canal or nerves. This can cause pain, numbness, and weakness in the legs or arms.
Spinal fracture:
A spinal fracture is a break in one or more of the bones in your spine. This can be caused by a fall, car accident, or other trauma. Symptoms of a spinal fracture include back pain, stiffness, and difficulty walking.
Spinal cord injury:
A spinal cord injury is a serious injury that occurs when the spinal cord is damaged. This can cause paralysis, loss of sensation, and other problems.
If you have been in an accident, it’s important to see a spine surgeon as soon as possible. Dr. Scheid can help you diagnose your injuries and develop a treatment plan.

Biography
Although Dr. Scheid has performed more than 5,000 successful spine surgeries, he is not a physician who immediately recommends surgery to his patients. “I take a step-by-step approach,” Dr. Scheid explained. “The first thing I do is find the real source of the patient’s problem – and I do this in a very deliberate and precise manner.” After the source of their problem has been pinpointed, Dr. Scheid can then develop an individualized treatment plan that can help relieve their pain and improve the quality of their lives. His extensive training and experience in re-operative spine surgery and spinal cord stimulation for the treatment of chronic pain allows him to help patients who have failed traditional spine surgery and those who have been told they are not candidates for traditional spine surgery.
